Mike is a native of Omaha, Nebraska and attended Arizona State University where he earned a B.S. degree in Industrial Management. Shortly after earning his degree he returned to Omaha where he began his environmental career with a large, multi-national engineering consulting firm. In the late 1990’s he left the consulting industry to provide in-house regulatory compliance and management support to the U.S. Postal Service, a former client. In this capacity, he forecasted, negotiated, and managed in excess of $20,000,000 in funding and provided support to a fifteen state region that spanned from the Upper Midwest to the Pacific Northwest including Alaska. Mr. Miller completed his MBA at the University of Missouri – St. Louis in 2001 rounding out his business acumen and returned to the consulting industry in 2005 when he joined Aquaterra as the Omaha Branch Manager. Currently serving a dual role as Branch Manager and Environmental Practice Area Leader, Mike is experienced in a wide array of environmental health and safety (EH&S) programs and has successfully developed and implemented EH&S solutions at multi-location industrial facilities in the agricultural processing, chemical processing, distribution/transportation, metals, and pharmaceutical manufacturing sectors and he oversees many of the company’s environmental projects. Mike is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and is active in several professional groups including the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP), the Midwest Plains Chapter of CHMM where he has served in multiple leadership roles, the American Society of Foundation Engineers (ASFE) where he is currently serving on the Environmental Committee, the Nebraska Industrial Council on the Environment (NICE), and the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) where he is a member of the Cornhusker Chapter.
